Ever heard of AC Cars? If you're into pure, unadulterated performance, you absolutely should have! This legendary British marque isn't just about speed; it's about a raw, visceral driving experience that few others can match. From their humble beginnings to creating some of the most iconic sports cars ever, AC has always been about pushing boundaries. Think lightweight, powerful engines, and a singular focus on the thrill of the drive. Forget fancy tech – this is about you, the road, and an engine roaring to life. They might not be the biggest name today, but the AC legacy, especially with the Cobra, is burned into automotive history. If you crave authenticity and a driving sensation that punches you in the gut (in a good way!), AC is your kind of brand.

About the AC Logo
The firm grew out of Weller Bros, an engineering and motor-repair business set up in West Norwood, London, in 1901 by the Weller brothers, with the engineer John Weller the driving force and the butcher John Portwine as financial backer. After Portwine judged Weller's 1903 touring car too costly to build, the company turned to a small three-wheeled delivery vehicle, the Auto-Carrier, from which the 'AC' name and the marque eventually derived.
01AC Logo Meaning & Symbolism
The badge is a roundel containing the stylised, interlocked letters 'AC', a contraction of Auto-Carriers, one of the company's early names (Autocarriers Ltd, from 1907). The rounded lettering with its distinctive curling tails has been retained, with only colour and detail refinements, for over a century.
