About the DAF Logo
Hub van Doorne opened a small machine and construction workshop in Eindhoven in 1928, backed by investor A. H. Huenges. In 1932 his brother Wim joined and the firm was renamed Van Doorne's Aanhangwagenfabriek, or DAF, going on to become a major truck builder and, for a time, a maker of small cars with the novel Variomatic transmission.
